Features

GLUCOSAMINE HYDROCHLORIDE

Glucosamine is an amino sugar that our bodies produce naturally. It is essential for the maintenance of healthy joints. Glucosamine is the major building and re-building component in cartilage, tendons and ligaments. Supplementing with Glucosamine can help to maintain and even regenerate joint tissue. Many studies have shown the effectiveness of Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfate to relieve osteoarthritis pain.1 Glucosamine is extracted from crustacean shells.

CHONDROITIN SULFATE

Chondroitin Sulfate is another natural component of healthy joint tissue. It helps the body maintain the fluid balance in the joints, as well as prevent cartilage breakdown. Chondroitin may work synergistically with Glucosamine, in other words, both supplements work better when they are taken together.2

BC BIOPHARM® Joint-Q Advanced® Chondroitin Sulfate is extracted from a bovine source.

MSM (METHYLSULFONYLMETHANE)

MSM is found naturally in many raw foods and is an essential nutrient that our bodies need to maintain good health. Study results show that a combination of Glucosamine, Chondroitin Sulfate and MSM was useful in decreasing pain, improving functional ability and joint mobility in patients with osteoarthritis.3

COLLAGEN TYPE II

Collagen is found naturally in healthy joints, as well as arterial walls and other structures in the body. The collagen structures in joints include: cartilage, ligaments, tendons and synovial fluids. Proper collagen balance is important for smooth, comfortable movement. Collagen is a component of cartilage, blood vessels and skin. BC BIOPHARM® Joint-Q Advanced® Collagen is derived from poultry.

BC BIOPHARM® Joint-Q Advanced® formula includes Glucosamine Hydrochloride and Chondroitin Sulfate which work synergistically to provide joint pain relief. It also contains MSM and Collagen Type II.

Vitamin D3

Vitamin D is vital for bone and muscle function and may have anti-inflammatory effects. As a result, many people believe that vitamin D plays a role in relieving joint pain, particularly where inflammation is the cause.

Some research links vitamin D deficiency to RA, which is a chronic inflammatory condition that affects the joints.

  • A review of studies from 2016 showed that people with RA had notably less vitamin D in their blood than people without RA. They also found that people with RA were more likely to have a vitamin D deficiency.
  • A research paper from 2012 suggests that vitamin D deficiency may be a risk factor for the onset of inflammatory diseases such as RA and that it may increase the condition’s severity.
  • Vitamin D supplementation is beneficial for the prevention of osteoporosis. RA sufferers have a higher risk of osteoporotic fractures and experience greater joint pain, so supplementation is advisable.
  • Vitamin D may also help improve mood and symptoms of depression.

Magnesium

Mg supplementation can decrease joint cartilage lesions. A combination of vitamin D and Mg
better protect cartilage than Mg alone. What else does Mg do for arthritis? Many forms of arthritis are related to painful calcium deposits in the joints. Low serum Mg levels are associated with high phosphate which binds calcium in joint deposits. A low Mg  state also increases the risk of hypercalcemia by stimulating  destructive cytokines
